Oscar Mitchell, Jr., PhD, Professor Emeritus of Southern University and A&M College, army veteran, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, great great grandfather, and friend, passed this life to spend eternity with the blessed Lord and Savior on Monday, April 6, 2009 at his home in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He was 90 years old. Dr. Mitchell was born in Fitzgerald, Georgia on January 31, 1919, to Oscar and Sally Mitchell, Sr.
